Pediatric Dentistry

Our primary goal is to gain the trust of children and allay their fears. It is important that children are brought up with a focus on regular dental care from an early age. In cooperation with parents we want to exploit the potential in prevention opportunities.

Small children’s oral hygiene and regular dental checks are perhaps the most important parts. A cracked first tooth can hurt or inflammate just as much as a permanent one. Remaining teeth will only be healthy in harmful bacteria-free medium and this way it will continue to evolve. So it is worth focussing on prevention. Not to treat a milk tooth – just because it will fall out anyway – is a serious irresponsibility.

Children’s dentistry believes strongly that the first experience of dental treatment for the little ones is decisive for a lifetime, therefore we treat children with priority attention and utmost patience. Children’s teeth need special care and beyond highly skilled medical expertise a psychological knowledge and empathy is required as well.

Making our children get used to go to the dentist, to establish oral care habits is a very important task. Regular and thorough cleaning of milk teeth – regular 6-month recall-visits are so much determinant as preservation of permanent teeth later.

Milk tooth filling

Treatment of little or medium sized decay in the tooth is perhaps the most frequent intervention in case of young patients. Health, and masticatory capacity of milk teeth can be kept, further decay can be avoided till change of teeth by filling, or polishing. During poilshing we polish the decayed cavity between the two teeth till it becomes a smooth surface, then we „impregnate” the surface with a two phase painting.

Milk tooth root canal treatment

In contrast to public opinion milk teeth have developed roots – in accordance with their size. (These will be absorbed when permanent teeth break through.) If the milk tooth is seriously injured before tooth change, it will be infected, if left untreated, it can be a source of chronic, purulent inflammation with fistulae.

Dental sealants

Caries in most cases starts in deep striae of molars, which can not be cleaned. By dental sealants closing hermetically and bacteria free the deepest part of the chewing surface will provide that it will be perfectly cleanable, by this way it will be prevented from forming caries. To be on the safe side, dental sealant is to be performed within six months after the tooth has broken through, so we perform this effective intervention for preventing caries from six years approximately (when permanent 6 teeth break through) at the same time when permanent teeth break through. Using a special two phase painting solution we make the upper layer more resistant to further attacks.
